The number of employed individuals in the region has been on the rise for five consecutive months.

The Jeju office of the Honam Regional Statistics Office reported that employment in the province grew by 2,000 people last month compared to the same month last year, marking five months of continuous growth.

Consequently, the employment rate rose by 0.6 percentage points to 70% last month, reaching this level for the first time in six months.

However, employment among people in their 20s has declined for 12 consecutive months, highlighting increasing employment challenges for this younger demographic.

제주지역 취업자수가 5개월 연속 회복세를 보였습니다.

호남지방통계청 제주사무소에 따르면 지난달 도내 취업자 수는
지난해 같은 달과 비교해 2천명 늘며 5개월 연속 증가했습니다.

이에 따라 지난달 고용률은 0.6%포인트 오른 70%를 기록하며
6개월 만에 70%선을 회복했습니다.

다만 20대 취업자는 12개월 연속 감소세를 이어가면서
청년층 취업난은 심화되고 있는 것으로 나타났습니다.
