Recently, the island has been gaining recognition for its innovative marketing approach, which involves blending traditional folk songs with hip-hop to showcase Jeju's unique charm.



The Jeju folk song '(느영 나영)Nuiyeong Nayeong' has been reborn as K-hip hop.


The province has produced and released a music video that reinterprets the representative folk song '(느영 나영) Nuiyeong Nayeong' in a modern way.


'(느영 나영) Nuiyeong Nayeong', which means 'you and me', is one of the most widely known Jeju folk songs along with '(오돌또기) Odoltogi' and '(이야홍 타령) Iyahong Taryeong'.

The repetitive chorus with the theme of love between a man and a woman is impressive.


The 2-minute music video, featuring scenes of an elderly couple reminiscing about their youth, was filmed against the beautiful backdrop of Jeju's stone walls, hills, and sea.


The music video, released on the 7th, has recorded approximately 60,000 cumulative views within a week.

In particular, it has received positive reviews for the fresh and well-matched combination of the cheerful Jeju folk melody and rap, with over 400 comments registered.

Since it’s a folk song, it feels somewhat familiar, but although it's my first time hearing the song 'Nuiyeong Nayeong', it has a sense of familiarity because its meaning seems similar.

Starting with this episode that combines traditional lyrics with the hip hop genre, the province plans to showcase the diverse charms of Jeju, including its food and people, through various music genres and visuals.

A total of four music videos are planned to be produced and released this year.

There are also plans to collaborate with influencers to promote the island.


Amid the popularity of the Hallyu wave led by K-pop, Jeju folk songs, newly reborn through the combination with modern music, are adding new charm to Jeju.

제주 민요 '너영나영'이 케이 힙합으로 새롭게 태어났습니다.

제주도가 대표 민요 너영나영을
현대적으로 재해석한 뮤직비디오를 제작해 공개했습니다.

너와 나라는 의미의 너영나영은 '오돌또기', '이야홍타령'과 함께
가장 널리 알려진 제주 민요입니다.

남녀 간의 어우러지는 사랑을 주제로 반복되는 후렴구가 인상적입니다.

노부부의 청춘이 회상신으로 등장하는 2분 가량의 뮤직비디오는
돌담과 오름, 바다 등
제주의 아름다운 풍경을 배경으로 촬영됐습니다.

지난 7일 뮤직비디오가 공개된 후 일주일 만에 약 6만뷰의 누적 조회수를 기록했습니다.

특히 흥겨운 제주 민요 가락과 랩의 조화가
신선하면서도 잘 어울린다는 호평이 이어지는 등
4백여개 댓글이 등록됐습니다.
