Jeju Education Museum is holding an exhibition around the ‘The Story of a School in Jeju Celebrating 100 Years.’


The exhibition, which runs until September 8, features 63 pieces, including graduation albums and school history books from Gujwa Joongang Elementary School and Namwon Elementary School, both of which are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year.

Additionally, an online archive catalog will be made available on the Cyber Jeju Education Museum.

The Jeju Education Museum expects the exhibition to highlight the founding of two schools and explore the challenges during the Japanese occupation, the April 3 Incident, and subsequent recovery and aims to illuminate Jeju's historical experiences.

제주교육박물관이 '제주의 개교 100년 학교 이야기'를 주제로 기획전을 엽니다.

이번 전시는 9월 8일까지로 진행되며
올해 개교 100주년을 맞은 구좌중앙초등학교와 남원초등학교가 소장하고 있는 졸업앨범과 학교 연혁지 등 관련 자료 63점이 전시됩니다.

또 기획전 도록은 온라인 사이버제주교육박물관에 전자책으로 탑재될 예정입니다

제주교육박물관은 이번 기획전이 두 학교의 설립 과정은 물론 일제강점기와 4.3시기 고난의 역사,
광복 이후 회복과 발전 역사 등 제주인의 모습을 재조명할 수 있는 자리가 될 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
