Jeju is accepting applications this month for the 5th round of compensation for victims of the April 3rd Incident.

This round is targeted at 2,700 individuals, and applications will be accepted through the end of this year.

To apply for the compensation, applicants must bring their ID and required documents to their local district office or visit the Jeju Provincial Government or administrative city offices.

To date, compensation amounting to 339.5 billion won has been paid to approximately 4,400 victims.

Meanwhile, the Province plans to consolidate the previously dispersed April 3rd support offices,
moving them to the former Jeju Police Station's welfare building starting from the 9th of this month.



4.3희생자 보상금 5차 접수…2천 700명 대상

제주특별자치도가 이달부터 5차 4.3희생자 보상금 대상에 대한 신청을 받습니다.
이번 5차 신청 대상은 2천 700명이며
접수는 올 연말까지입니다.

보상금 신청은 신분증과 필요 서류를 지참해
읍면동 주민센터나 제주도, 행정시를 방문해 접수하면 됩니다.

지금까지 희생자 4천 400여명에 대한 청구권자에게 3천 395억 원의 보상금이 지급됐습니다.

한편 제주도는 그동안 분산 운영되던 4.3 지원과를 오는 9일부터
옛 제주경찰청 건물의 후생관으로 통합 이전할 예정입니다.
