The Jeju Provincial Council has welcomed the government's decision to decentralize the hosting of next year's APEC summit.

Kim Kyung-hak(김경학), the Chairman of the Jeju Provincial Council, announced in a press release that the 2025 APEC Preparatory Group and Jeju Province will begin discussions on concrete measures related to decentralized meeting hosting.

He urged Jeju to attract more meetings through close cooperation to promote Jeju’s value globally. He added that the council would also contribute its efforts.

Previously, Chairman Kim had urged to decentralize the APEC summit in Jeju after Gyeongju (경주) was tentatively decided as the venue on the 21st.

경주가 잠정 결정되며
제주 분산 개최를 촉구한바 있습니다.
