Cooling Down in the Sweltering Heat


Panpo Port, one of the major water play spots on the island, is crowded with vacationers.
People cool down by swimming or floating on tubes and waves.

Some people leisurely enjoy paddle boarding and snorkeling by the sea.

Thanks to the shallow water, children are deeply immersed in water play, losing track of time.

It was really nice to swim and play with my sibling because it's so hot. It was so hot that we were sweating, but the cool water made all the sweat disappear.

As the heatwave continues in Jeju, the flow of vacationers has been constant throughout the day.

In Jeju, the heatwave warnings continue as daytime temperatures exceed 30 degrees Celsius, especially in the northeastern region.

Due to this, major vacation spots such as forest retreats and beaches have been bustling with locals and tourists even before the peak summer vacation season begins.

We came here for a wedding photoshoot and decided to stay and play because it was so hot. We wanted to come to the beach because it was so hot, and the water is so clean and beautiful. We were worried because they said it would rain a lot, but the weather cleared up, and it's great.

The perceived temperature is expected to remain above 33 degrees Celsius, and also tropical nights with minimum temperatures over 25 degrees Celsius are also expected to continue.
Therefore, attention to health management and prevention of heat-related illnesses is required.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has advised refraining from outdoor activities during severe heat and ensuring sufficient hydration and rest.




"찜통더위 식히자"…피서객 '북적'


도내 주요 물놀이 장소 중 한 곳인 판포포구가
피서객들로 북적입니다.

직접 수영을 하는가 하면
튜브와 파도에 몸을 맡긴 채 더위를 식힙니다.

한편에서는 바다를 벗삼아
패들보드와 스노클링을 즐기며
여유로운 시간을 보냅니다.

낮은 수심 덕에
어린아이들도 시간 가는 줄 모르고
물놀이에 푹 빠졌습니다.

더운 김에 이렇게 수영하고 동생이랑 노니깐 진짜 좋았어요. 오늘 더워서 땀까지 났는데 시원해서 땀이 다 사라졌어요.


제주에 연일 무더위가 기승을 부리면서 하루 종일 피서객들의 발길이 이어졌습니다.

제주는
북동부 지역을 중심으로
낮 기온이 30도를 넘어서면서
폭염특보가 이어지고 있습니다.


이로 인해
휴양림과 해수욕장 등 대표 피서지들은
본격적인 여름 휴가철이 시작되기도 전부터
도민과 관광객들로 활기를 띄었습니다.

웨딩 촬영하러 왔다가 지금 놀러 오게 됐는데 너무 덥기도 하고 그래서 바닷가 오고 싶어서 왔는데 물도 너무 깨끗하고 예쁘고 좋은 것 같아요.
장마 온다 해서 걱정 많이 했고 비도 많이 온다 했었는데 그래도 여기 오니깐 날씨가 맑아져서 너무 좋은 것 같아요.

기상청은
폭염이 심할 때는 야외활동을 자제하고
충분한 수분 섭취와 휴식이 필요하다가 당부했습니다.
