A shelter for protecting young run-a-ways or those living away from home due to other various reasons is set to begin operations.

The province announced the establishment of a temporary youth shelter in Samyang-dong, Jeju City.

The shelter can accommodate up to 10 people and includes separate bedrooms and bathrooms for boys and girls, an activity room, and counseling rooms.

It offers protection, basic necessities, and medical and counseling services to support youth in returning to their families or integrating into society.



제주도, 가정 밖 청소년 '보호 쉼터' 운영

가출 등으로 인한
가정 밖 청소년들을 보호하기 위한 쉼터가 운영을 시작합니다.

제주특별자치도는
제주시 삼양동에 일시청소년쉼터를 조성하고
본격 운영을 시작했다고 밝혔습니다.

입소 정원은 10명이며
남여 청소년 침실과 화장실,
단체 활동실,
상담실 등이 갖춰졌습니다.

쉼터에서는
청소년을 일정 기간 보호하며 의식주를 제공하고
의료나 상담 서비스를 통해
가정과 사회로의 복귀를 지원하게 됩니다.
