Citizen groups and political parties, under the coalition "Nuclear-Free Climate Crisis Jeju Action," are demanding a review of recent bus route changes that they argue ignore public convenience and restrict mobility rights.

In a statement, they criticized the route changes, noting that the reduction in bus services mainly affects commuters and students who rely on public transportation, especially in low-demand areas where non-profitable routes have been cut.

They argued that the role of public transportation has been reduced to mere efficiency and market logic, with no consideration for the needs of bus users.

They also pointed out that the route changes focused solely on cost savings without considering the perspectives of local bus users.

이들은 성명을 통해 버스 감차 피해가 대중교통으로 출퇴근 하고 등하교 하던 도민과 학생들에게 집중되고 특히 수요가 적은 지역에 배치됐던 비수익 노선에서 발생하며 공공대중교통의 역할이 오로지 효율과 시장 논리에 맡겨졌다고 비판했습니다.

또 노선 개편을 비용 절감에만 치중하고 버스 이용 도민들의 입장은 전혀 고려하지 않았다고 꼬집었습니다.
