Jeju's pioneering School Safety Police Officer program has been well-received.

Since March, the Jeju Autonomous Police has been piloting the program in one school in the western region of Jeju City. A survey conducted among students, parents, and school staff revealed a 91% satisfaction rate.

The school safety police officers reside in schools to maintain safety and order, prevent school violence and digital sex crimes, provide youth counseling, and manage traffic during school hours.

The Jeju Autonomous Police plans to expand the program to eastern Jeju City and Seogwipo City starting in the second semester of this year.

학생과 학부모 교직원을 대상으로
설문조사를 진행한 결과 91%가 만족한다고 답했습니다.

학교 안전 경찰관은
경찰관이 학교에 상주하며 교내 안전과 질서를 유지하고 학교 폭력과 디지털 성범죄 예방 교육,
청소년 상담 활동, 등굣길 교통 관리 등을 지원하고 있습니다.

제주도 자치경찰단은 올 2학기부터
제주시 동부권과 서귀포시권으로
학교 안전 경찰관을 확대 운영할 계획입니다.
