As the heat wave intensifies, vacationers are flocking to harbors for water activities, but these areas aren't designated for swimming and lack lifeguards, raising safety concerns, especially at night

This harbor is a place where fishing boats come and go, restricting activities like diving and swimming, but this is largely ignored. Moreover, there are no safety personnel, raising concerns about potential dangers.

Last month, at (월령) Wollyeong Harbor in Jeju City, a vacationer diving into a shallow depth of 1.5 meters was severely injured, among other accidents.
With vacationers flocking to the island's harbors, accidents have been occurring day and night.

Over the past three years, there have been about 50 accidents in the island's harbors, resulting in 16 fatalities.

묘기까지 부리며 다이빙을 선보입니다.

벽면에 있는 밧줄을 잡고 올라와
뛰어내리기를 반복하고,
안전장비도 없이
여러 명이 동시에 몸을 던지기도 하면서 아찔해 보입니다.

해당 포구는 어선들이 오가는 곳으로,
다이빙이나 수영 등
물놀이가 제한돼 있지만 아랑곳 하지 않습니다.
게다가 안전요원도 배치돼 있지 않아 위험이 우려됩니다.

인명사고가 발생할 가능성이 크고,

지난달 제주시 월령포구에서는
1.5m의 낮은 수심에
다이빙을 하던 물놀이객이 크게 다치는 등
도내 항포구에 피서객들이 몰리면서
밤낮으로 사고가 잇따르고 있습니다.

도내 항포구에서 발생한 사고는 50여 건으로
이로 인해 16명이 숨졌습니다.
