The number of foreign visitors to Jeju has increased significantly, while the number of domestic tourists, which had temporarily declined, is gradually recovering to last year's levels.

According to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, 8.344 million tourists have visited Jeju so far this year, a 3.4% increase from the same period last year.

Among them, 1.14 million were foreign visitors, more than three times the 320,000 from the previous year.
Notably, the number of visitors to the island's beaches this summer reached 630,000, a 9% increase compared to the same period last year.



주춤했던 내국인 관광객 회복 기미…외국인은 3배
제주를 찾는 외국인이 크게 증가하고 있는 가운데
한 때 주춤했던 내국인도 조금씩 늘면서 지난해 수준에 근접하고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면
올들어 지금까지 제주를 찾은 관광객은
834만 4천여명으로
지난해 같은 기간에 비해
3.4% 늘어난 것으로 잠정 집계되고 있습니다.

이 가운데 외국인은 114만명으로
지난해 32만명에 비해
3배 이상 많은 것으로 나타났습니다.

특히 올 여름 도내 해수욕장 이용객을 보면
63만여명으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 9% 늘어난 것으로 조사됐습니다.
