Researchers Perspective of Eoseungsaeng Oreum


This is the desk of an explorer who studies the natural ecology of oreum.

Displayed are the records of authors who have researched the animals, plants, geology, and cultural environment of oreum.

The scenery and sounds of (어승생) Eoseungsaeng Oreum have also been brought directly into the exhibition space.

This is the exhibition 'Walking in Nature at Eoseungsaeng Oreum,' currently being held at Innisfree Jeju House.

The exhibition introduces Eoseungsaeng Oreum, one of the larger oreum in Jeju, which has not yet been extensively studied.


The exhibition is designed to allow visitors to experience the diverse vegetation distributed across Eoseungsaeng Oreum's high altitude.

In particular, this exhibition offers an experience where visitors can feel the perspective of an observer exploring the ecology of Eoseungsaeng Oreum.

We have conducted research support projects to raise awareness of the various values of oreum. During this process, we carried out research and publication support projects to share the cultural and ecological values of oreum with the public, and this exhibition was planned based on the books published through these projects.

In addition to the videos of Eoseungsaeng Oreum, the explorer's desk, and the sound walking exhibition simulating an oreum climb, there will also be a program where visitors can walk through (곶자왈) Gotjawal and listen to the sounds of nature.


This exhibition is open for free until October 31st, and all proceeds from additional programs and merchandise sales will be donated entirely to the conservation of Jeju's oreum.



오름 연구자의 시점으로 보는 '어승생 오름'


오름의 자연생태를 연구하는 탐험가의 책상입니다.

오름의 동물과 식물, 지질,
인문환경을 연구한 저자들의 기록이 펼쳐져 있습니다.

어승생오름 속 풍경과 소리도 그대로 전시장 안에 들어왔습니다.

이니스프리 제주하우스에서 열리고 있는
'어승생오름, 자연을 걷다'전입니다.

제주의 오름 중 큰 규모에 속하지만
아직 조사가 많이 이뤄지지 않은 어승생 오름을 소개하는 전시입니다.

높은 고도만큼이나
다양한 식생이 분포하는 어승생 오름을
다양한 방식으로 체험할 수 있도록 구성됐습니다.

특히 이번 전시에서는 어승생오름의 생태를 탐구하는
관찰자의 시선을 그대로 느껴볼 수 있는 경험을 제공합니다.

오름의 다양한 가치를 알리기 위해서 연구 지원 사업들을 진행했었습니다. 그 과정에서 오름의 인문생태적 가치들을 대중에게 공유하기 위해서 연구와 출판 지원 사업을 했었고, 출판 사업을 통해서 출간한 도서를 매개로 전시를 기획하게 되었습니다.

오름 등반 체험 사운드 워킹 전시를 비롯해
곶자왈을 직접 걸으며
자연의 소리를 들을 수 있는 체험프로그램 등도 운영될 예정입니다.

이번 전시는 10월 31일까지 무료로 관람할 수 있으며,
추가 프로그램과 물품 판매 수익은 전액
제주의 오름 보전을 위해 기부될 예정입니다.
