Despite the start of the second semester at various universities, many medical students at Jeju National University(JNU) have not returned to school.

According to Jin Sun-mi (진선미), a member of the National Assembly's ‘Education Committee’ from the Democratic Party of Korea, only four second-year medical students at Jeju National University have registered for classes, and no first-year students have done so.

Moreover, none of the first- and second-year medical students have paid their tuition fees.

JNU has decided to switch from a semester-based to a year-based curriculum to prevent a widespread repeat of the year. However, the students' lack of response is raising concerns about the effectiveness of the measure.



제주대 의예과 재학생 대부분 학교 복귀 안 해

각 대학별 2학기 개강이 시작됐지만
제주대학교 의예과 재학생 상당수가 복귀하지 않은 것으로 나타났습니다.

2학년이 4명, 1학년은 한명도 없었습니다.

특히 의예과 1, 2학년 모두 등록금을 납부하지 않았습니다

제주대는 대규모 유급 사태를 막기 위해
교육과정을 학기제에서 학년제로 전환하기로 했지만
학생들이 여전히 요지부동이라 실효성이 없다는 지적도 나오고 있습니다.
