In response to sinkhole incidents occurring nationwide, Jeju is undertaking the repair of old sewage pipes, which are identified as a primary cause of sinkholes.

According to the Province, the total length of interceptor sewage pipes connecting treatment plants and pumping stations is approximately 370 km, with 24% of these pipes being more than 20 years old and made of concrete.

Jeju plans to complete the full replacement of these pipes by 2028, with an investment of approximately 30 billion KRW.



'싱크홀' 원인 노후 콘크리트 하수관 정비

전국적으로 도로 싱크홀 사고가 발생한 가운데
제주도가 싱크홀의 원인이 되는 노후 하수관을 정비합니다.

제주도에 따르면 하수처리장과 펌프장 등을 연결하는 차집 하수관은 총 370여 km로 이 가운데 20년 이상된 노후 콘크리트관은 24%인 90킬로미터로 파악됐습니다.

제주도는 콘크리트 하수관 전면 교체를 위한 설계를 진행 한 뒤 약 300억 원을 투입해 빠르면 2028년까지 정비를 마무리할 계획입니다.
