The number of tourists visiting Jeju this year has surpassed 10 million.

According to Jeju Province, as of the 17th, over 10 million tourists visited the island this year, which surpasses records 12 days earlier than last year.

On the 15th, during the Chuseok holiday, Jeju recorded its highest number of daily visitors this year, with 52,200 people arriving in one day.

Although domestic visitors were down by approximately 10% earlier this year compared to last year, they have been recovering since July and are expected to increase this month.

The number of foreign tourists, particularly independent travelers in their 20s and 30s from China, continues to grow steadily.



올해 제주 관광객 1천만 조기 돌파…내국인 회복세

올들어 제주를 찾은 관광객이 1천만 명을 돌파했습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 지난 17일을 기준으로
올해 방문 관광객수가 1천만 명을 넘어섰으며
이는 지난해보다 12일 빠른 것입니다.

특히 추석 연휴인 지난 15일의 경우
하루 방문객이 5만 2천 200여명으로
올해 1일 방문객 최고치를 기록하기도 했습니다.

올초만 하더라도 내국인 관광객의 감소폭이
지난해 보다 10% 안팎에 이르렀지만
7월부터 비중이 줄면서 이달에는 증가세로의 전환이 예상되고 있습니다.

또 20~30대 개별관광객을 중심으로 한 중국시장이 성장세를 보이는 등 외국인 관광객의 꾸준한 증가세도 이어졌습니다.
