Jeju has the highest cigarette tax revenue per capita in the country.

According to data submitted to National Assembly member Wi Seong-gon(위성곤) by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Jeju’s per capita cigarette tax revenue last year reached 115,000 won, the highest in the nation.

This is double the amount of Sejong(세종) City, which had the lowest per capita cigarette tax at 62,000 won.

After Jeju, Chungnam(충남), Gangwon(강원), and Chungbuk(충북) provinces had the next highest amounts.

Cigarette tax is a local tax levied by municipalities on cigarette manufacturers and importers under the Local Tax Act.


제주 1인당 담배 소비세 전국 최고

제주의 1인당 담배 소비세가 전국에서 가장 높은 것으로 나타났습니다.

위성곤 국회의원이 행정안전부로부터 제출받은 자료에 따르면
지난해 제주의 1인당 담배 소비세액은
11만 5천원으로 전국에서 가장 큰 것으로 나타났습니다.

이는 가장 낮은 세종 6만 2천 원의 두배 수준입니다.
제주 다음으로는 충남과 강원, 충북 순으로 높았습니다.

담배 소비세는 지방세법에 따라 지자체가 담배 제조사와 수입사에 부과하고 있습니다.
