Renewable energy companies from Norway are showing interest in Jeju's carbon neutrality policies.

A Jeju delegation on a Northern European tour signed consecutive agreements with the Norwegian Renewable Energy Association and the Offshore Wind Association on the 24th local time.

Through these agreements, they agreed to share technology and experience for the design, installation, and operation of offshore wind farms, as well as collaborate on various infrastructure developments.

Prior to the agreements, the Jeju delegation visited the headquarters of Equinor, a state-owned enterprise pursuing large-scale offshore wind power projects around Chuja(추자) Island. They met with executives and emphasized the importance of ensuring public interest and resident acceptance.

해상풍력협회와 잇따라 업무협약을 체결했습니다.

이번 협약을 통해
해상풍력 발전단지의 설계와 설치, 운영을 위한
기술과 경험을 공유하고
각종 인프라 개발에 협력하기로 했습니다.

제주도 대표단은 협약에 앞서
추자 일대에서
대규모 해상풍력발전 사업을 추진하고 있는
국영기업인 에퀴노르 본사를 방문해
경영진과 면담을 갖고
공공성과 주민 수용성 확보의 중요성을 강조하기도 했습니다.
