The proportion of traffic accidents involving elderly drivers in Jeju is increasing, calling for urgent countermeasures.

According to data analyzed by Democratic Party Congressman Wi Seong-gon from the National Police Agency, nationwide traffic accidents involving drivers aged 65 and older increased by 27% in three years, from 31,000 in 2020 to 39,000 last year.

In Jeju, the number increased by 30%, from 548 in 2020 to 716 last year. When considering the ratio of accidents to the number of license holders aged 65 and above, Jeju ranked third highest nationally, following Gwangju and Daejeon.

전국에서 세 번째 높은 것으로 분석됐습니다.
