The law against deep fake sex crimes, which has become a recent social issue, has passed the National Assembly plenary session.

The amendment to the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, proposed by Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Han-gyu (김한규), establishes a new offense for the possession, purchase, storage, or viewing of false videos, including deepfake sexual exploitation material, with a maximum penalty of 3 years in prison or a fine of up to 30 million won.

Additionally, even without proof of distribution, anyone who creates sexual exploitation materials may face up to 7 years in prison or a fine of up to 50 million won.

The amendment also includes changes to the Youth Protection Act and the Sexual Violence Prevention Act to establish punishment regulations for threats or coercion crimes against children or adolescents using sexual exploitation materials, with heavier penalties.



딥페이크 성범죄 방지법' 통과…소지나 시청해도 처벌


최근 사회적 이슈를 낳고 있는 딥페이크 성범죄 처벌법이 국회 본회의를 통과했습니다.

더불어민주당 김한규 의원이 대표 발의한
성폭력 처벌법 개정안은 딥페이크 성착취물을 비롯한 허위영상물 등의 소지나 구입, 저장, 시청죄를 신설해 최고 3년의 징역 또는
3천만 원의 벌금형에 처하도록 명문화했습니다.

또 유포 목적이 입증되지 않더라도
딥페이크를 이용한 성범죄물을 제작한 경우
최고 징역 7년, 벌금 5천만 원에 처하도록 하는 내용도 포함됐습니다.

이와 함께 청소년성보호법과 성폭력방지법도 함께 개정해 성착취물을 이용한 아동이나 청소년 대상 협박이나 강요 범죄에 대한 처벌 규정을 신설하고
현행 성폭력처벌법보다 무겁게 처벌하도록 했습니다.
