For the first time, public foreign seasonal workers have been assigned to the Jeju City area.

The Jeju branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NongHyup) and Gosan NongHyup provided training for 30 public foreign seasonal workers from Nam Dinh Province, Vietnam, on the 27th in Hangyeong-myeon.

These workers received training on basic agricultural tasks, working conditions, and living in Korea and will be deployed to agricultural sites for five months starting next month.

The public seasonal worker program involves local agricultural cooperatives directly hiring foreign workers, who stay in communal accommodations and are assigned to farms that need short-term labor.

제주시 지역에 공공형 외국인 계절근로자가 처음 배치됐습니다.

농협중앙회 제주본부와 고산농협은
지난 27일 한경면 관내에서 베트남 남딘성에서 입국한 공공형 외국인 계절근로자 30명에 대한 교육을 실시했습니다.

이들은 기초 농작업과 근로 여건, 한국 생활 등에 대한 교육을 받았으며 다음 달부터 5개월 간
농업 현장에 투입될 예정입니다.

공공형 계절근로사업은 지역 농협에서 외국인 근로자를 직접 고용하고 공동숙소에서 체류하면서
단기 인력이 필요한 농가에
인력을 배치하는 방식으로 진행됩니다.
