Silver Grass Blooms in Late Summer Heat


Under a clear blue sky, silver grass stretches out across an open expanse.
The tall silver grass, as if reaching out to the autumn sky, sways gently in the wind, creating endless waves of shimmering silver. It’s a mesmerizing sight.

Silver grass has also flourished around volcanic cones, known as oreum, attracting many visitors.

On their weekend getaway to the oreum, visitors delight in the autumn ambiance as they stroll along paths lined with silver grass.

Tourists traveling with friends pose enthusiastically in front of a natural Jeju backdrop.

They immerse themselves in the silver grass, taking pictures and enjoying the arrival of autumn, despite the lingering late summer heat.

The silver grass is in full bloom, the sky is so beautiful, and it feels like a healing experience. We're really enjoying the autumn right now. We've completely forgotten about the heat. The moment we saw the silver grass, we were so happy. We love it. We're so happy!

Although the nights and mornings have become noticeably cooler, the late summer heat persists during the day as temperatures remain well above the seasonal average.

Though the summer heat lingers on, silver grass, which heralds the coming of autumn, is evident across all of Jeju and gently reminds us of lovely autumns past.




늦더위 속 가을 성큼, 억새 물결 '장관'



쾌청한 하늘 아래 억새가 드넓게 펼쳐져 있습니다.

가을 하늘에 닿을 듯,
높게 자란 억새가 바람을 따라 춤을 추고,

끝없이 펼쳐진 은빛 물결이 출렁이며 장관을 이룹니다.

오름 일대에도
억새가 하얀 꽃을 피우면서
사람들의 발길이 이어집니다.

주말을 맞아
오름을 찾은 등반객들은
억새 사잇길을 따라 걸으며,
반가운 가을 정취를 느껴봅니다.

친구들과 함께 여행 온 관광객들의 얼굴에는
설렘이 가득합니다.

억새에 파묻혀 사진을 찍으며
늦더위 속 성큼 다가온 가을을 만끽합니다.

억새도 한창이고 하늘도 너무 예쁘고 정말 힐링하고 갈 것 같아요. 너무 가을을 만끽하고 있어요. 지금 더위는 완전히 잊은 지 오래예요. 억새를 보는 순간 너무 좋아요. 좋아요. 너무 행복해요!

밤낮으로는 부쩍 선선해졌지만
한낮에는 평년 기온을 크게 웃돌면서
늦더위가 이어지고 있습니다.

이런 날씨 속에도 제주 곳곳에서는
가을의 전령사 억새가 꽃망울을 터뜨리면서
늦더위에 잠시 잊었던 가을을 실감케 하고 있습니다.
