The price of this year’s open-field Jeju mandarins has stagnated due to an increase in spoilage caused by hot and humid weather.

According to the Jeju Agricultural Products Supply Management Center, the average price of this year's open-field mandarins traded in nine major wholesale markets was holding steady at approximately 10,000 KRW for 5 kg earlier this month but recently dropped to around 8,000 KRW.

As a result, the average price for October fell to 9,172 KRW, a 2.4% decrease compared to the same month last year.

Agricultural authorities are urging thorough quality control, noting that the price decline is due to increased spoilage during distribution caused by the hot and humid weather.

올해산 노지감귤의 평균 가격은
5kg 기준 이달 초 1만원 선을 유지하다
최근 8천원 선으로 떨어졌습니다.

이에 따라 10월 평균 가격은 9천172원으로
지난해 같은 달보다 2.4% 하락했습니다.

농정당국은 고온다습한 날씨로 유통 과정에서 부패과 발생이 증가해 가격이 하락하고 있다면서
철저한 선별 관리를 당부하고 있습니다.
