Starting from the 21st of this month, smoking within 10 meters of electric vehicle charging stations will incur a fine.

The city of Jeju announced that by the province's no-smoking zone ordinance, areas within 10 meters of eco-friendly vehicle charging stations will be designated as no-smoking zones.

As a result, smoking will be prohibited within 10 meters of electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicle charging stations. Violators will face a fine of up to 100,000 KRW.

Jeju City plans to implement a grace period until the end of the year, after which smoking violations will be strictly enforced.

제주시는
제주도의 금연구역 지정 조례에 따라
환경친화적 자동차 충전시설 10m 이내 구역이
금연구역으로 추가 지정 고시된다고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라
전기차와 수소차 충전시설로부터
10m 이내에서 흡연이 금지되며
위반할 경우 10만 원 이하의 과태료가 부과됩니다.

제주시는 연말까지
계도기간을 운영한 후
흡연행위 단속에 나설 예정입니다.
