The expansion of Jeju’s cultural and artistic public storage facility, the first integrated storage facility by a local government, has passed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's preliminary feasibility assessment.

As a result, Jeju will begin the project after receiving approval from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in the first half of next year.

The Jeju Culture & Art Public Art Storage Extension project, which will cost 11.5 billion KRW, aims to double the current capacity and is scheduled to open by December 2027.

Built in June 2019, the Jeoji art storage facility currently operates at 93.6% capacity, highlighting the need for expansion.

지방자치단체 최초의 통합수장고인
제주도 문화예술 공공수장고에 대한 시설 확충사업이 문화체육관광부의
설립타당성 사전평가에 최종 통과됐습니다.

이에따라 제주도는 내년 상반기 중
행정안전부의 중앙투자 심사를 거쳐
수장고 증축사업을 본격 추진할 수 있게 됐습니다.

문화예술 공공수장고 확충사업은
사업비 115억원을 투입해
지금의 시설에서 두배 가량 늘려
2027년 12월 개관을 목표로 추진하고 있습니다.

지난 2019년 6월 저지문화예술인마을에 지어진 제주도 문화예술 공공수장고는
현재 93.6%의 수장율을 보이며 시설 확충의 필요성이 제기돼 왔습니다.
