The Jeju Provincial Office of Education is facing an increase in employment burden fees, due to failure in meeting the mandatory employment ratio for disabled individuals, prompting calls for countermeasures.

Kim Kyung-hak (김경학), of the Jeju Provincial Council's Education Committee revealed that the Jeju Education Office faces a 1.5 billion KRW employment burden fee this year for not meeting the legal hiring rate for disabled individuals, with the amount expected to rise to 1.7 billion KRW next year.

The Education Office explained that it has been hiring disabled individuals under the mandatory employment system but faces shortages in the teaching and public service sectors. It plans to take steps to boost recruitment.

고용 부담금이 증가세를 보이면서 대책이 필요하다는 지적입니다.


제주도의회 교육위원회 소속 김경학 의원은
내년도 도교육청 예산안 심사에서
장애인 고용률 법정 기준 미달로
올해 제주도교육청이 내는 고용부담금은 15억원이며
내년에는 17억원까지 늘어날 것으로 예상된다고 밝혔습니다.


이에 대해 교육청은
장애인 의무고용제에 따라
일정 인원을 장애인으로 선발하고 있지만
교직 분야와
공무직에서 미달 사태가 벌어지고 있다며
장애인 채용 확대를 위한 대책을 마련하겠다고 설명했습니다.
