Jeju City has allocated 704 foreign seasonal workers to farms in the region for the first half of next year.

Following a demand survey conducted last month among farmers and agricultural corporations regarding the employment of foreign seasonal workers, 704 workers were requested by 199 farms.

The allocation was confirmed after the Ministry of Justice’s pre-screening process, with 100% of the requested workers granted.

This marks an increase of 188 workers, or 36.4%, compared to the first half of last year.

Starting next year, the city also expects a reduction in manpower shortages, as not only the existing Gosan (고산산) Agricultural Cooperative but also Hanlim (한림림) and Jocheon (조천) Nonghyup (농협) have been selected for the seasonal labor program.

이는 지난해 상반기보다 188명, 36.4% 증가한 규모입니다.

제주시는 또 내년부터 기존 고산농협 뿐 아니라
한림과 조천농협 등
3곳이 계절근로사업 공모에 선정돼
인력 확보 부담이 줄어들 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
