In response to President Yoon Suk-yeol's (윤석열) declaration of martial law, the Jeju Provincial Council has stated that it is a clear violation of the Constitution and an act of rebellion.

At a press conference, Chairman Lee Sang-bong(이상봉), alongside other Council members expressed that the actions of President Yoon and his associates remain acts of rebellion that cannot be excused or overlooked.
They further stressed the people’s will for the President’s immediate resignation and urged a prompt investigation.
Meanwhile the ruling People Power Party members failed to align their views in time and did not attend the press conference.


제주도의회, "계엄 선포는 명백한 내란 행위"

윤석열 대통령 비상계엄 선포와 관련해 제주도의회가 명백한 국헌 문란이자 내란 행위라는 입장을 내놨습니다.

이상봉 의장을 비롯해 제주도의회 소속 의원들은 도의회 앞에서 기자회견을 열고
계엄을 해제한다 해도 윤석열 대통령과 이에 가담한 인사들의 내란죄가 덮어지지 않는다고 강조했습니다.

그러면서 즉각 대통령에서 물러나라는 것이 국민의 명령이라며 윤석열 대통령의 사퇴와 내란죄에 대한 즉각적인 수사를
촉구했습니다.

한편 이날 기자회견에는 이상봉 의장의 제안에도 불구하고
여당인 국민의힘 소속 도의원들은 의견 조율이 늦어져
참석하지 않았습니다.
