As the weather grows colder, special caution is being urged regarding fire accidents caused by heating equipment.

According to the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire and Safety Headquarters, there have been over 100 heating-related fire incidents over the past five years. These incidents resulted in 6 injuries and approximately 600 million KRW in property damage.

Electric heating devices accounted for about 40% of the total fires, followed by wood-burning heaters and home boilers.

More than half of the fires were attributed to negligence.

The fire authorities plan to issue an early heating equipment fire warning and strengthen safety measures.



겨울철 난방용품 화재 사고 '주의' 당부

날씨가 추워지면서
난방용품 화재 사고에 각별한 주의가 요구되고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도 소방안전본부에 따르면
최근 5년동안 발생한 난방용품 화재 사고는 100여 건으로
이로 인해
6명의 인명피해와
6억 원 가량의 재산 피해가 났습니다.

전기 난방용품 화재가
전체의 40% 가량으로 가장 많았고
화목 난방용품,
가정용 보일러 화재 순으로 나타났습니다.

특히 화재 사고의 절반 이상이
부주의에 의한 것으로 분석됐습니다.

소방 당국은
난방용품 화재 주의보를 조기에 발령하고
안전 관리를 강화할 방침입니다.
