Starting next month, Jeju will expand eligibility for the Jeju Transportation Welfare Cards to children aged 6 to 12, allowing them to ride public buses for free.

The new eligibility includes children born between 2012 and 2019, with those born in 2012 transitioning to a youth fare once they pass their birthday.

This expansion will benefit 43,000 additional children, bringing the total number of eligible recipients across Jeju to 188,000.

To ensure smooth card distribution, Jeju will implement a birth-year-based application schedule starting on the 23rd of this month.

제주교통복지카드 발급대상을 6살에서 12살 어린이까지로 확대합니다.

추가 발급대상은
2012년부터 2019년생으로
2012년생의 경우
생일이 지나면 청소년 요금으로 전환됩니다.

이번 확대조치로
4만 3천명의 어린이가 새롭게 교통복지혜택을 받게 되며
제주 전체적으로
무료이용대상은 18만 8천명으로 늘어나게 됩니다.

제주도는 원활한 카드발급을 위해
오는 23일부터 출생연도별 신청요일제를 운영할 계획입니다.
