Illegal drone flights around Jeju Airport have been detected about three times a month on average.

According to Korea Airports Corporation’s Jeju Airport branch, a system to detect illegal drones has been in place since December of last year. When unauthorized drones are detected, police are immediately dispatched to the scene to apprehend the offenders.

As a result, 37 incidents of illegal drone flights were detected in the past year, with administrative penalties such as fines imposed on 25 of these cases.

If drones are flown without permission near the airport, violators can face fines of up to 4 million KRW and penalties of up to 5 million KRW.

한달에 3번 꼴로 불법드론 비행이 적발되는 것으로
나타났습니다.

한국공항공사 제주공항에 따르면
지난해 12월부터 불법드론을 탐지할 수 있는 시스템을 갖추고
미승인 불법드론을 탐지하면 경찰이 바로 현장에 출동해
검거할 수 있는 체계를 구축해 운영하고 있습니다.

그 결과 지난 1년간 37건이 적발돼
이 가운데 25건에 대해 과태료 부과 등의 행정처분이 이뤄졌습니다.

공항 인근에서 허가 없이 드론을 비행하다 적발되면 최대 400만원 과태료가 부과될 뿐 아니라 최대 500만원까지 벌금이 부과될 수 있습니다.
