Starting next year, the eligibility for the Didim Seed Account, which helps low-income children build assets, will be expanded.

According to Jeju City, the expansion will allow children from lower-income families, as well as those from single-parent households and near-poverty groups, to benefit, in addition to children under child protection and those from families with an income below 50% of the median.

Those wishing to apply can visit their local community center or apply online through platforms like Bokjiro (복지로) or Gov.KR.

The Didim Seed Account matches the amount saved by the child, guardian, or through sponsorship at a 1:2 ratio, with the government contributing up to 100,000 KRW per month. The account matures when the child turns 18.

제주시에 따르면
이번 가입대상 확대로
기존 보호아동과 중위소득 50% 이하에서
차상위계층과 한부모가정 아동까지
혜택을 받을 수 있게 됐습니다.

신규 가입을 희망하는 경우
읍면동 주민센터에 방문하거나
복지로와 정부24 등
온라인에서 신청할 수 있습니다.

디딤씨앗통장은
아동이 후원을 받거나 본인 또는 보호자가 저축하면
정부가 적립 금액의 1대 2 비율로 월 10만원까지 매칭해 주게 되며
만기는 해당 아동이 18살이 되는 달 까지입니다.
