The number of employed individuals in Jeju has decreased for six consecutive months, signaling a worsening outlook for the local job market.

According to the Jeju Office of Statistics, the number of employed individuals in Jeju last month was 393,000, which is a decrease of 8,000 compared to the previous year.

As a result, employment in the region has continued to decline for six months in a row since July of last year, mainly in retail, accommodation, food service, construction, and agriculture sectors.

Overall, the number of employed individuals in the region dropped slightly by 1,000 compared to the previous year, while the employment rate rose by 0.1 percentage points to 69.3%.

통계청 제주사무소에 따르면
지난달 제주지역 취업자 수는
39만 3천명으로
1년 전과 비교해 8천명 감소했습니다.

이에 따라 도내 취업자 수는
도소매·숙박·음식점업과 건설업, 농림어업을 중심으로
지난해 7월부터 6개월 연속 감소세를 이어갔습니다.

지난해 전체 취업자 수는
전년과 비교해
1천명 소폭 줄었고
고용률은 69.3%로 0.1%포인트 상승했습니다.
