The Navy's Jeju Base Command has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seogwipo City Office of Education to expand the survival swimming education program. This year, the program will include not only Dosun (도순) Elementary and Gangjeong (강정) Elementary School but also Beophwan (법환) Elementary School.

To enhance the program, plans are in place to introduce rubber boats and an indoor jump platform.

Last year, the Navy deployed members of its special forces, the Sea Salvage & Rescue Unit, as instructors to conduct survival swimming training in the sea, preparing for potential maritime emergencies. This was the first such program in the nation.
