Jeju Island and the Fire Safety Headquarters will begin fire prevention inspections for piloti buildings starting on February 3.

This inspection will focus on piloti buildings in rural areas that were given defective judgments during last year's inspection of auxiliary parking lots. The inspection will primarily look for illegal changes of use and improper storage of items.

Minor issues will be corrected on-site immediately, and if violations are found, corrective orders and compulsory fines will be imposed.

In particular, piloti buildings constructed before the 2019 revision of the Building Act are criticized for being vulnerable to fire, as they were not required to use fire-resistant exterior finishing materials, making them more susceptible to fire hazards.

필로티 건축물 화재 예방 점검을 실시합니다.

이번 점검은
지난해 부설주차장 점검에서
불량 판정을 받은
읍면지역 필로티 건축물을 대상으로 이뤄지며
불법 용도 변경과 물건 적치 등을 중점적으로 살피게 됩니다.

경미한 사항은 현장에서 즉시 시정하고
위반사항이 적발될 경우
시정명령과 이행강제금을 부과하게 됩니다.

특히 2019년 건축법 개정 이전에 지어진
필로티 구조 건축물은
준불연 외부 마감재 사용 의무가 없어
화재에 취약하다는 지적을 받고 있습니다.
