With an increase in visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday period, the likelihood of wildfires has risen, prompting Jeju to begin its spring wildfire prevention period earlier.

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province will set up wildfire prevention headquarters in 16 agencies, including Hallasan (한라산) National Park, administrative districts, and towns, and will implement an emergency response system.

Additionally, around 200 wildfire monitors will be deployed to key peaks and hiking trails, and real-time monitoring will be conducted 24/7 through AI-powered CCTV video analysis.
