Jeju’s Neulbom School, which provides education and tailored care,
will be expanded this yearfrom first graders to include second graders as well.

As a result, the number of eligible applicants for Neulbom School
will increase from approximately 5,400 last year to around 10,400 this year.
A preliminary survey conducted due to a shortage of after-school care classrooms, indicates that about 150 students from overcrowded schools may be unable to enroll.

In response, the education office has decided to allow these students to apply for after-school programs, excluding after-school care, free of charge. Meanwhile, last year, 93% of first graders participated in the Neulbom School.



늘봄학교 초등 2학년까지 확대…150여 명 탈락

교육과 맞춤형 돌봄을 제공하는 '늘봄학교'가
올해부터 종전 초등학교 1학년에서 2학년까지로 확대됩니다.

이에 따라 늘봄학교 신청 대상은
지난해 5천4백여 명에서
올해는 1만4백여 명으로 늘어납니다.

다만 사전 수요 조사 결과 돌봄교실 부족 등으로
일부 과대학교에서 참여 희망 학생 중 150여명이 탈락할 것으로 예상됩니다

교육청은 이에따라 탈락학생들이
돌봄교실을 제외한 방과후 프로그램을 무상으로 신청할 수 있도록 했습니다.

한편 지난해는 초등학생 1학년의 93%가 늘봄학교에 참여했습니다.
