Last month’s airplane fire incident at Gimhae International Airport is suspected to have originated from a spare battery. As a result, domestic airlines are strengthening their management policies.
Airlines are implementing various regulations, such as requiring passengers to personally carry spare batteries during the check-in process before issuing boarding passes. Additionally, only baggage that has undergone content verification will be allowed in overhead compartments.

T’way Air and Eastar Jet are instructing passengers to store spare batteries in individual zipper bags and attach insulating tape to battery terminals to prevent short circuits.

[Slug] Air Busan ? only verified carry-on luggage allowed in overhead compartments

Air Busan will conduct pre-boarding checks to confirm the presence of batteries in carry-on luggage and will only permit overhead storage for verified baggage.

실효성이 떨어진다는 지적도 나오고 있습니다.
