It is estimated that 1 in 10 seniors aged 65 and over in Jeju are living with dementia.

According to the Province and the National Dementia Center, as of 2023, Jeju has approximately 13,000 dementia patients, representing 11% of the population aged 65 and older.

The province explained that as life expectancy increases, the number of dementia patients is also rising.
In light of this, the province encourages active engagement in early dementia screenings, which are offered year-round.

Any local resident can visit one of the six dementia relief centers
at health clinics across the region and receive a free screening,
as long as they bring their ID, without any age restrictions.

제주도내 치매환자는 1만 3천여명으로
65살 이상 인구의 11%를 차지하고 있습니다.

제주도는
평균 수명이 연장되면서 치매환자도 증가하고 있다며
치매조기검진을 연중 실시하고 있는 만큼
적극적인 관심을 당부하고 있습니다.

6개 보건소 치매안심센터를 방문하면 무료로 검진받을 수 있습니다.
