Following the medical crisis, Jeju’s Emergency Medical Support Unit was launched last year to prevent emergency room "bouncing" incidents. Over eight months, more than 3,500 patients were transported.

According to Jeju authorities, from March to November last year, approximately 3,500 patients were transferred to general hospitals through the support unit.

Established in February last year, the unit aims to prevent confusion between paramedics and hospitals, reducing patient transfer mishaps. It coordinates hospital transfers and treatments based on patient severity.

Since its launch, no deaths have been reported due to emergency room "bouncing" incidents.



'뺑뺑이 차단' 응급의료지원단, 3천여 명 이송

의료대란 사태 이후
응급실 뺑뺑이 사고 예방을 위해
지난해 응급의료지원단이 출범한 가운데
8개월 동안 3천 명이 넘는 환자 이송이 이뤄졌습니다.

제주도 등에 따르면
지난 해 3월부터 11월까지
응급의료지원단을 통해
환자 3천 5백여 명이 종합 병원으로 이송됐습니다.

응급의료지원단은
119 구급대와 병원 측의 현장 혼선을 막고
환자 재이송 사고 등을 예방하기 위해 지난해 2월 출범했고
환자 중증도에 따라
병원 이송과 진료 등을 조정하는 업무를 담당하고 있습니다.

응급의료지원단 출범 이후
응급실 뺑뺑이 등으로 인한
환자 사망 사고는 없는 것으로 알려졌습니다.
