With illegal tour businesses on the rise, authorities plan to strengthen joint crackdowns.

‘Fake Tour Guides’ Caught in Illegal Operations

This woman appears to be a tour guide.
However, it was confirmed that she is an unregistered tour operator who has not been officially reported.

[Slug] Two people caught conducting illegal tour operations targeting Chinese tourists

Recently, two people were caught by local police conducting illegal tour operations without proper registration, targeting Chinese tourists.

[Slug] Woman in her 40s, identified as A, caught conducting illegal tour operations

A woman in her 40s, identified as A, is suspected of conducting illegal tour operations by taking four Chinese tourists around major attractions in a van, despite not being registered as a tour operator.

[Slug] Man in his 50s, identified as B, caught transporting tourists without proper registration

A man in his 50s, identified as B, was caught at Seongsan Port, Seogwipo, for transporting Taiwanese tourists in his van without being registered as a licensed transport operator and charging money for the service.

They have been illegally operating by charging around 100,000 to 150,000 won per trip.

With illegal activities targeting foreign tourists on the rise, the police plan to strengthen enforcement efforts.

If you use illegal tour operators, you could face safety issues or legal problems. We conduct regular inspections against unregistered tour operators, and during peak seasons, we will strengthen enforcement through joint inspection teams with relevant agencies.

또다른 외국인 여성에게 무언가 설명하며 표 사는 걸 돕습니다.

관광 가이드처럼 보이는 이 여성.

하지만 정식으로 신고하지 않은 무등록 여행업자로 확인됐습니다.

자치경찰에 연이어 적발됐습니다.

[40대 중국인 A씨, 등록 없이 관광지 소개하는 등 불법 여행업 적발]
40대 중국인 여성 A씨는
여행업자로 등록되지 않았는데도
승합차에 중국인 관광객 4명을 태우고 다니며
도내 주요 관광지를 소개하는 등
불법 여행업을 한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

[50대 B씨, 정식 등록 없이 돈 받고 관광객 실어 나르다 적발]
50대 남성 B씨 역시
정식 운수사업자 등록 없이
돈을 받고 자신의 승합차로
대만 관광객들을 실어 나른 혐의로
서귀포시 성산항에서 적발됐습니다.

이들은 한 번에
10만 원에서 15만 원 가량을 받고 불법 영업을 해 왔는데,

[여행사보다 싼 가격으로 외국인 관광객 끌어모아]
여행사를 통해 예약할 때보다
저렴한 가격으로
외국인 관광객들을 끌어모았습니다.

[과거 SNS나 여행사 통해 단체 관광객 모으는 경우 많아]
예전에는 SNS에 게시글을 올리거나
여행사를 통해 단체로
외국인 관광객을 모으는 경우가 많았지만,

[개별 관광객 늘고 단속 강화되며 더 은밀하게 모객 행위]
최근에는 개별 관광객이 늘어나고,
단속이 강화되면서
모객 행위가 더 은밀하게 이뤄지는 것으로 파악되고 있습니다.

[최근 5년 간 제주서 무등록여행업 41건 적발]
최근 5년 사이
제주에서 무등록여행업으로 적발된 사례는 41건.

외국인 관광객들을 상대로 한 불법 영업이 기승을 부리면서
경찰은 단속을 강화할 방침입니다.
