Due to strong winds and bad weather, maritime accidents have been occurring consecutively, prompting the Coast Guard to enhance safety measures.

During the special maritime safety alert period, which lasts until the 15th, the Coast Guard will conduct focused sea patrols. If weather conditions worsen, fishing vessels will be instructed to return to port early.

They also plan to inspect whether life jackets are provided on fishing boats and leisure vessels.

During the March 1st holiday weekend, 18 accidents occurred, including 4 vessels sinking and 3 capsizing, after storm-level winds caused mooring ropes to snap.
