In Jeju, the time it takes for 119 paramedics to transport critical patients has been found to be longer than before.

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), the average transport time for critical patients in 2023 was 35 minutes, which is 8 minutes longer than the 27 minutes recorded in 2016, the first year of the survey.

Notably, the transport time was even longer in 2021, reaching 42 minutes, and in 2022, it was 38 minutes.

To reduce transport times, Jeju Province is operating a priority signal system that allows fire trucks and ambulances to pass through intersections without stopping.
