Reusable cup recycling is thriving on Udo Island, a popular destination for tourists.

According to Jeju Province, 120,000 reusable cups were used on Udo over the past year, and more than 95% were successfully collected.
The retrieved cups are sent to the Udo Reusable Cup Washing Center, where they undergo drying, sterilization, and cleaning processes before being reused.

During a visit to the center, Governor Oh Young-hoon emphasized that expanding the use of reusable cups is crucial to maintaining a plastic-free, pristine Udo, and pledged to further promote the operation of the washing center.

지난 1년 동안 우도에서 사용된
다회용컵은 12만 개로
이 가운데 95% 이상이
회수됐습니다.

회수된 용기는
우도 다회용기 세척센터로 보내져
건조 살균과 세척 과정을 거쳐
재활용되고 있습니다.

센터를 방문한 오영훈 지사는
"플라스틱 없는 청정 우도를 위해
다회용기 사용 확대가 중요하다며
세척센터 운영을 더욱 활성화하겠다"고
강조했습니다.
