Jeju has confirmed its first case this year of SFTS, prompting public health authorities to urge residents to follow prevention guidelines.

SFTS is a tick-borne viral disease that typically occurs between April and November. Symptoms include high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and in severe cases, it can be fatal.

With outdoor activities including fern picking and hiking increasing, health officials stress the importance of avoiding tick bites.

To aid prevention, Jeju Health Center has installed tick repellent spray stations at Jeolmul (절물) Forest Park and Halla Arboretum, and is distributing portable repellents to high-risk groups such as the elderly.

SFTS는 주로 4월부터 11월 사이 발생하는
진드기 매개 감염병으로, 감염 시 고열과 구토, 설사 등 위장관계 증상이 나타나며 심할 경우 사망할 수도 있습니다.

때문에 고사리 채취나 오름 등반 등 야외 활동 시 진드기에 물리지 않도록 예방하는 것이 중요합니다.

제주보건소는 절물자연휴양림과 한라수목원 등에 진드기 기피제 수동분사기를 배치하고
노약자 등 고위험군을 대상으로 휴대용 진드기 기피제를 지원하고 있습니다
