Jeju City says its resident-led illegal parking reporting system has led to fines totaling 870 million won this year, based on about 24,200 reports filed through last month.

Most violations were reported at crosswalks, followed by street corners at intersections and bus stops.

Under the system, residents can report illegally parked vehicles via the Safety Report app, allowing authorities to issue fines without on-site inspections.

제주시는 불법 주정차 주민신고제를 통해
올들어 지난달까지 2만 4천 200여건에
과태료 8억 7천만원을 부과했다고 밝혔습니다.

신고된 불법주정차 구역은
횡단보도가 1만여건으로 가장 많았고
교차로 모퉁이와 버스정류장 순으로 나타났습니다.

불법 주정차 주민신고제는
주민이 안전신문고 앱을 통해
불법 주·정차 차량을 촬영해 신고하면
단속공무원이 현장 출동 없이
과태료를 부과할 수 있는 주민 참여형 제도입니다
