Jeju’s Election Commission is stepping up crackdowns on election involvement by public officials and employees of affiliated agencies.

The move comes ahead of the 9th nationwide local elections. Inspectors will monitor local government events on site and will also closely review personal social media activity.

The commission says any illegal involvement will be treated as a serious crime, under a zero-tolerance policy.
