Medical facility construction approved in Jeju Healthcare Town
Greenland Group to build three-floor structure

Officials have approved the construction of a large medical facility inside the Jeju Healthcare Town in Seogwipo.

The provincial government has granted final approval to the Greenland Group for the development. It applied for the permit on July 30th.

The building will include a cosmetic surgery clinic, a gym, and 40 patient rooms, spread out among three floors above ground and one basement level. The facility will sit on a 28,000-square-meter plot of land in (토평동) Topyeong-dong, Seogwipo.

Provincial officials are stressing that this permission pertains only to the official use of the planned facility. The general feeling around the island, however, is that this is actual approval for a foreign investment hospital.

道, 헬스케어타운내 의료시설 건축 승인

서귀포시 헬스케어타운에 대규모 의료시설 건축이 승인됐습니다.

제주특별자치도는 지난달 30일 녹지그룹이 제출한 헬스케어타운내 의료시설 건축 신청을 최종 승인했다고 밝혔습니다.

서귀포시 토평동 헬스케어타운 2만 8천여 제곱미터 부지에 들어서는 의료시설은 지하 1층, 지상 3층 규모로 성형외과와 피트니스 센터 등을 비롯해 40여개 병실이 들어설 예정입니다.

제주도는 건축법 등 관련규정에 의한 의료시설 용도 허가라고 밝혔지만, 사실상 헬스케어타운에 조성되는 외국영리병원이라는 점에서 향후 사업 추진 여부에 관심이 쏠립니다.
