Development zone tax breaks to be extended 3 years

Tax benefits will likely be extended for companies in three types of development zones.

The Ministry of Strategy and Finance has issued advance notice of the legal revisions. Income and corporate tax breaks for firms based in investment promotion zones, free trade zones, and the Jeju Science Park will be extended three years. The benefits were to expire at the end of this year.

Value added tax refunds for cosmetic care and surgery by inbound tourists will be instituted for 12 months beginning next year. The ministry will also proceed with changing the post-tax exemptions at tax-free shops into pre-tax exemptions.

Along with the tax breaks, authorities will tighten regulations on how land is divided or transferred to a new owner, beginning next year. This is being done to ensure environmental impact assessments are performed and effective.

제주 개발 관련 특구에 대한 세제 지원 혜택기간이 연장될 전망입니다.

기획재정부가 최근 입법예고한 세법개정안에 따르면 올해 말 종료될 예정이었던 제주투자진흥지구와 제주자유무역지역, 첨단과학기술단지 입주기업에 대한 소득세와 법인세 감면이 3년 연장됩니다.

또 외국인 관광객의 미용·성형 비용에 대한 부과세 환급제도 1년 동안 시행되고, 현재 사후 면세 제도로 운영되는 면세점 세제지원을 사전에 면세하는 방안이 추진됩니다.

토지개발사업을 하면서 환경영향평가를 피하기 위해 사업대상 토지를 분할하거나 명의를 이전하는 행위가 차단됩니다.
