New marine links with mainland
Service to Yeosu begins September 20, another vessel on Mokpo route

We’re still not sure if a Jeju-Incheon ferry route will reopen, but the island is getting a new marine link to the mainland, and another is in the works.

Hanil Express will launch the 5,000-ton Gold Stella on September 20th. It will sail between Jeju and (여수) Yeosu. This is the first service on the route in ten years. The Gold Stella can accommodate 810 passengers and 290 trucks and sedans.

Officials say that Sea World Express Ferry will also add a 5,000-ton vessel to the Jeju-Mokpo route next month. It currently operates the Sea Star Cruise between the two.

Analysts say the new additions will relieve the logistics quagmire the island has been mired in. That’s good news with Chuseok, and all of its packages and parcels, coming up in just about a month.

제주 - 여수, 제주 - 목포 여객선 잇따라 취항

제주와 인천 뱃길 재개는 불투명해졌지만, 제주와 여수를 오가는 정기여객선이 10년 만에 다시 취항합니다.

주식회사 한일고속은 다음달 20일부터 제주와 여수를 오가는 만 5천톤 급 한일골드스텔라호를 취항합니다.

한일골드스텔라호는 승객 810명을 비롯해 화물차와 승용차 290여 대를 실을 수 있습니다.

이 밖에도 씨월드고속훼리가 현재 제주와 목포를 오가는 씨스타크루즈 외에도 만 5천톤급 여객선 한 척을 다음달에 추가 취항하면서 추석을 앞두고 여객수송과 물류난 해소에 도움을 줄 것으로 보입니다.
