‘Only Jeju’ brand likely to be changed
Researchers suggest ‘Find Your Jeju’

The days of the “Only Jeju” brand may be numbered.

The province commissioned an outside design research institute to create a new brand for the island last year. The agency has suggested that the new one be “Find Your Jeju.” Officials aren’t completely sold on it yet, so they are collecting public opinion through the end of the year before deciding whether to make the switch.

If surveys show local support for the new brand, officials will gradually make the change by revising all of the necessary ordinances.

Researchers and designers argue that “Find Your Jeju” is a better choice because “Only Jeju” doesn’t convey enough meaning.

현재 제주도의 브랜드인 Only Jeju를 교체하는 방안이 추진됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 지난해 브랜드 용역결과 새롭게 제시됐지만 여러가지 문제점으로 인해 사용되지 않았던 'Find your Jeju'에 대해 올 연말까지 여론 수렴을 거쳐 활용방안을 마련하기로 했습니다.

여론수렴 결과 'Find your Jeju'에 대한 선호도가 높게 나타나면 조례 개정을 통해 단계적으로 교체할 방침입니다.

당시 용역진은 Only Jeju의 경우 의미전달이 부족하다며 'Find your Jeju'라는 새로운 브랜드를 제시했었습니다.
